Hamburg’s Administration and Government Officials
Elected Officials
Hamburg is governed by a seven-member Council and a Mayor. Council members are vested with the executive and legislative powers of the Borough. They determine municipal policy, enact laws, approve budgets, establish tax rates, and appoint Borough Officials. Council members are elected at large and serve a 4-year term. The Mayor, who is also elected to serve a 4-year term, is in charge of the Police Department and oversees its operations.

Hamburg Municipal Authority - 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7 pm
Hamburg Planning Commission - 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7 pm
Hamburg Zoning Hearing Board meetings are on an as-needed basis.
Hamburg Library Board - 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6 pm
Note: Meetings are subject to cancellation when holidays conflict. All meetings are held in the Council Chambers of the Hamburg Municipal Center, 61 North 3rd Street, Hamburg, PA 19526, with the exception of the Hamburg Library Board. Meetings for the Hamburg Library Board are held at the Library located at 35 North 3rd Street, Hamburg, Pa 19526.
